Rome is a country with a long history. There are a lot of old buildings and different arts’ cultures. As the birthplace of Renaissance, Italy first made great achievements in literature and art. During this period, literature outstanding representative Boccaccio and Petrarch. Boccaccio is the representative who works of “the Decameron”, is of great significance in the history of European literature. He developed the tradition of medieval short stories, which laid a foundation for Italy’s prose. Petrarch made huge contribution in poetry. He is good at sonnets and lyric poetry, and he wrote a lot of sonnets and lyric poetry. Sonnets become Europe’s important verse, Petrarch is known as the father of modern poetry.

In terms of art, there early Renaissance Italian artist Giotto, Brunelleschi, Donatello and Giorgione. Giotto is the founder of the Italian traditional realistic painting, his masterpiece is “Flight into empty”. Brunelleschi is an architect, his masterpiece the Florence cathedral dome. Donatello statue reached The anatomy of The accurate, including bronze statue “David” and “The Gattamelata Equestrian”. Giorgione’s painting has structural balance, and color harmony. His masterpiece is “Sleeping Venus”. It created the western painting in a theme: the durable in bed with a naked statue of liberty. Italian Renaissance reached its heyday in the 16th century, literature and art center moved to Milan from Florence and Rome. Heyday produced four masters, they are Michelangelo, Raphael, Da Vinci, and Titian. Da Vinci’s masterpiece “the Last Supper” and “The Mona Lisa”. These art works were so amazing. Therefore, Rome is famous in all over the world because of these art works.

If I get a chance to choice which country I would like to live in as an average citizen, it should be America. Initially, nobody knew America, until the navigator Christopher Columbus discovered it in 1942. Then, a lot of people went to America to live there. Therefore, America is a diversification country. No matter where are you from, you can just live in America and enjoy your life. There are many different cultures, people are nice there. United States is a part of America, and nowadays, the United States is the most developed country in the world. They have a sound legal and policy. Therefore, if I could foresee the future, I would choice to live in America.

Shang dynasty

I am a Chinese, so I want to talk about Chinese history first.
Shang dynasty is also called Yin dynasty or Yin Shang, this dynasty built before the 17th century- before the 11th century. Shang dynasty was the direct written dynasty at the same time in China. The early time of the Shang dynasty have been moved a lot. Then, Shang dynasty built the capital in Yin in the last 273 years, so Shang dynasty also called Yin dynasty. Later period of Shang dynasty. Chinese history was transition from a dubious era to the historic era. Shang dynasty began at the end of Xia dynasty, but Shang dynasty was more abundant archaeological discoveries than Xia dynasty. Shang dynasty can be divided into “first Shang”, “early Shang”, and “late Shang” three stages. The last king Shangzhou king was killed by Zhouwu king. Then, the Shang dynasty was end.
For the reason why were the Shang dynasty successful, it included the economy, culture, agriculture, handicraft industry development. Shang dynasty consciously the unification of the currency, which laid a foundation for the unity of the Chinese currency in the future. Shang dynasty extensive use of oracle, also got good communication in terms of culture. Shang dynasty developed many new kinds of vegetables and fruits, enriched the usual diet. Shang dynasty and a large number of bronze ware, which is why the Shang dynasty had more archaeological significance than Xia dynasty.
Chinese traditional culture has a lot of the concept of “mandate of heaven”. For example, the Taoist “mandate of heaven” refers to the fate and destiny. The Mohism “mandate of heaven” refers to the will of god. The Legalism “mandate of heaven” refers to the will of the king. The Confucian “mandate of heaven” refers to the ideal of personal inner “mission”. Confucius’ thought of destiny is a positive attitude towards life, namely now call social responsibility.This thought is an essential part of a civilized society, there is no this kind of social ideal, the direction of the social spiritual civilization and material civilization can’t find the right direction.The mandate of heaven looks be like simple, but for the Chinese nation cannot spontaneously to self-reliance, self-improvement, freedom and democracy theory to guide the failure of the responsibility.

Today, I want to talk about something about me. First of all, I want to talk about my major.
Nowadays, in modern life, people cannot live without TV programs. In addition, a good TV program or radio station needs a good backstage group and a good post production. When I was a high school student, I was interested in debiting and speaking. I wanted to study a major that pertained to speaking, so I chose Journalism. This is a good major to improve students’ communication skills. Every TV program and radio station needs a host who can speak a standard language and has good communication skills. Since I chose this major, I have been researching information on it, and I formulated my goals pertaining to my major.
The first important one is the educational background for the Journalism. This major’s courses include Introduction to Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Fundamentals of Speech, Voice and Diction, International Communication, American Public Address, Argumentation and Debate, and etc. All of courses are to improve students’ speaking and communication skills. These courses will teach students how to do a speech and a debate. Students will learn how to be a good host or reporter from these courses.
The second one is the salary and roles for the job. When I finished the major, I should find a job from a TV program or radio station. I can be a host or reporter for a TV program or radio station. My duties are to tell all civilians the true news and make a happy show for the audience. A host needs to broadcast news on TV or radio stations and host a TV show. Their salary is not high, just $4000 per month. If the host is so famous, such as someone working for NBC or ABC, this host will get $40000 per month. A reporter needs to introduce proruption news on TV or write a news article and let the host broadcast it. Their salary is not high, just $3500 per month. If the reporter is famous, they will get $30000 per month.
The last one is my goals pertaining to my major. I am a program exchange student from China. I want to finish all of my courses on time and learn American communication skills. I want to improve my English skills first and improve my English speech or debate second. In addition, I want to learn more about American hosting skills.
Overall, my major is very wonderful, especial for girls. All of the courses are so interesting. If I work hard, I can get a high salary. Actually, when I finish my school, I will go back to China to be a host on CCTV(similar to NBC in US). I want to learn more about American communication ways and take it back to China. I will show the skills for Chinese audiences. TV programs are important today. I want to do my best to improve Chinese TV programs’ quality.

Now, I want to talk about some interesting thing about me when I came to America for study.
When I came to America the first day, I could not communicate with every American. I could not order food in a restaurant, I could not check out when I finished shopping at Wal-Mart. Now, I can do a lot of things that I could not do before.
Now, I will study hard and finish all of my classes. I want to go back to China as soon as possible because I want to find a good job and make money. I want to live by my own hands, no longer bother to my parents.
